I am celebrating my independence today by still doing IV’s from home instead of in the hospital…lol. Last year I was still in ICU at Mayo Clinic and mom and my middle son Jacob were with me.
This was when I developed an empyema in my lung and got yet another chest tube and then later determined that it was MRSA. One of the reasons that I am probably sitting here with pneumonia….again.
Freedom is awesome and I am so grateful to live in a country where we have the right to choose how to live our lives and make our own choices. I am grateful for the freedoms that are granted to us and try to always remember what a blessing it is.
It is so easy to get wrapped up in your own little world and forget that there is a whole big world out there. I hope that this year brings more tolerance to our nation. It is a very sad state that we are in literally fighting one side against the other. I could care less what your political beliefs or any of your beliefs for that matter. I just don’t understand why it is so hard for people to respect others choices.
I do not believe that we were set on this earth to judge one another. Love one another, yes. Show respect to all walks of life, yes. Just because someone believes or feels differently than me, I do not believe that are wrong and I would hope that I can separate my own personal feelings and learn to accept others for who and what they are.
That is how I try to live my life and sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. Then I try again. I hope everyone has a safe, fun and happy 4th of July.
